If you encounter any technical issues with your SwipeSimple reader, apply these troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
- Make sure the reader is fully charged.
- Verify that the reader and your device are within 15 feet of each other.
- Restart the reader and then find it again in the “Select Reader” list within the app.
- Use the reset button at the bottom of the reader to reboot it.
- Ensure the EMV card is fully inserted with the chip facing front.
- Ensure the magnetic stripe is facing back when swiping.
- Make sure your SwipeSimple mobile app is up to date.
Connecting to iOS/Android devices
The SwipeSimple card readers do not require any prior pairing with your device. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can take:
- Make sure your device has the latest version of the SwipeSimple app installed.
- Ensure your card reader has been charged for at least 2 hours.
- Confirm that your device is running on iOS version 9.0 and above/Android version 4.4.0 and above
- Ensure that both your device and card reader are within 10-15 feet of each other.
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device
- Press and hold the power button to restart your card reader in case you cannot find it in the SwipeSimple app.
The Swift Bluetooth readers can only be paired with one device at a time. Ensure the Bluetooth reader is not paired with another device. If the reader is paired to another device, please "forget" the reader in the Bluetooth settings of the device and try again.
