How do I pair my SwipeSimple reader with my device using Bluetooth?

Follow these steps to pair your SwipeSimple reader to a mobile device via Bluetooth:

  1. Charge your card reader using the included cable, connecting it to a power adapter. Full charge may take up to two hours.
  2. Download the SwipeSimple app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  3. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device.
  4. Press and hold the power button on the reader until it flashes blue (B250) or flashes blue and solid red (B350).
  5. Open the SwipeSimple app, enter an amount, and tap Checkout.
  6. When asked if you'll use a reader, select Yes.
  7. Grant all requested permissions.
  8. SwipeSimple will find and pair with nearby readers automatically.

When a message saying 'Tap, Dip, or Swipe' with the reader image, it means your reader is ready to process transactions.

Once initial connection is established, the reader doesn’t require pairing before each use; the SwipeSimple app will automatically detect your Swift reader during a sale or transaction as long as both devices are within 10-15 feet from each other.

I still have issues with Bluetooth connectivity, what should I do?

SwipeSimple will check for disabled Bluetooth and other permissions on your device. If the card reader can't connect, it will guide you to enable the necessary settings. Follow the prompts to ensure Bluetooth and other permissions are active.

Bluetooth readers can connect to only one device at a time. Make sure it's not paired with another device. If it is, select "Forget This Device" or "Unpair" in Bluetooth settings and try again.

  1. In case the card reader still won't connect, follow these steps on your device:
  • Ensure reader is not paired in your mobile device Bluetooth settings
  • Navigate to SwipeSimple Settings > Device Pairing  
  • Ensure Use Bluetooth Reader is toggled 'On'
  • Ensure the reader appears in the list of available readers
  • Select to pair reader from available list

 2.  Ensure that permissions are enabled for SwipeSimple

  • Open device Settings  
  • Go to Apps and select SwipeSimple
  • Ensure that Bluetooth, Microphone, and Local Network is enabled for SwipeSimple

 3.  If the reader still does not appear as option during transaction, try enabling the location on the device

  • Open device settings and go to Location
  • If OFF, toggle ON
  • If ON, toggle OFF, then back ON
