The parameter changes are not applying to my Valor terminal. What do I do?
For parameter changes to take effect on your terminal, a download package is required.
After making any modifications to device parameters in the Online Portal, you must perform a Package Download on the terminal to apply these changes. This also applies to general software updates.
Follow these steps to perform a Package Download:
- Tap the Favorites Button (represented by a star icon, located on the bottom left of the screen).
- Select 6. Package Download.
- Tap OK.
If you encounter an "Invalid Parameter" error (as noted for VL500, this troubleshooting step is generally applicable to similar Valor devices), first close the terminal's batch via the Online Portal (refer to steps in the previous section for closing a batch), and then reattempt the download or parameter update.
For any software updates or app downloads to properly push to the terminal, ensure that App Download is toggled to Enabled for your terminal within the Online Portal. You can verify if an app download was successfully pushed by checking the "App Download" toggle in Device Management, which should then appear as Disabled, or by viewing the updated version on the Device Management screen.
