How do I make a Credit Sale?

To conduct a credit sale, follow these simple steps:

  1. Enter the transaction amount and tap OK.
  2. Confirm the amount. You can remove any non-cash charge here.
  3. Swipe, insert, or tap the card. For manual entry, type the card number.
  4. Ask the customer to sign on the screen. Enter a tip if enabled.
  5. Enter the customer’s phone number to send an SMS receipt. You can also select Go Green.
  6. Tap Print Receipt if the customer requests a paper copy.
  7. Follow the on-screen prompts to print the customer copy.

How do I perform a Debit Sale?

Here’s how to make a debit sale in a few quick steps:

  1. Tap Credit until it switches to Debit.
  2. Enter the transaction amount and tap OK.
  3. Confirm the amount. You can remove any non-cash charge here.
  4. Swipe, insert, or tap the card. For manual entry, type the card number.
  5. Ask the customer to enter their PIN. Enter a tip if enabled.
  6. Enter the customer’s phone number for an SMS receipt. You can also select Go Green.
  7. Tap Print Receipt if a paper copy is needed.
  8. Follow the prompts to print the customer copy.

How do I void a Credit transaction?

To void a credit transaction, proceed as follows:

  1. Tap Sale until you see Void, then tap OK.
  2. Enter your password (the default one is the last 4 digits of your EPI number).
  3. Choose Tran Number or Card Number.
  4. Enter the transaction number or the last 4 digits of the card.
  5. Select the transaction to void.
  6. Enter the customer’s phone number for an SMS receipt and select Go Green.
  7. Tap Print Receipt if needed.
  8. Follow the prompts to print the customer copy.

How do I process a Credit Refund?

To issue a refund, follow the steps below:

  1. Tap Sale until you see Refund.
  2. Enter the transaction amount and tap OK.
  3. Confirm the amount. Non-cash charges are not applied to refunds.
  4. Enter your password (the default one is the last 4 digits of your EPI number).
  5. Swipe, insert, or tap the card.
  6. Ask the customer to sign and confirm.
  7. Enter the customer’s phone number for an SMS receipt and select Go Green.
  8. Tap Print Receipt if needed.
  9. Follow the prompts to print the customer copy.

How do I perform a Credit Pre-authorisation (PreAuth)?

To perform a Credit Pre-authorisation, follow the steps below:

  1. Tap Sale until PreAuth is displayed. 
  2. Enter the dollar amount and press OK.
  3. Swipe/Insert/Tap the card on the Present Card screen, or start typing the card number for Manual Entry.
  4. Select the receipt delivery method.

How do I capture a Pre-authorisation (Credit Capture)?

To complete a pre-authorised transaction, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Tap Sale until Ticket is displayed. 
  2. Enter the dollar amount and press OK. Enter the password.
  3. Select Tran Number or Card Number. If Tran Number, enter the transaction number. If Card Number, enter the last 4 digits of the card.
  4. Sign and Tip if prompted.

How do I print a Pre-Sale Ticket?

To print a pre-sale ticket just follow the quick steps below:

  1. Tap the keypad icon, then press 2, enter your password, and press 2 again.
  2. Enter the amount.
  3. The ticket will print automatically.

The default password is the last 4 digits of your EPI number.

For Valor VL100 Pro, VP100 and VP550 terminal models, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Menu icon
  2. Tap the Page Down icon
  3. Tap Option 2 (Host Utility)
  4. Enter the password and select ‘Pre-Sale Ticket’
  5. Enter the dollar amount, tap the OK button, and the pre-sale ticket will be printed

How do I re-print a transaction receipt?

To reprint a receipt:

  1. Tap the (★) icon, then tap 1. Print Receipt.
  2. The last transaction receipt will print.
  3. Press Yes for a customer copy, or No to exit.

For older receipts, tap the keypad icon, press 4, and choose option 2 or 3.

How do I perform a Settlement?

To settle your transactions simply:

  1. Tap the (★) icon, then press 2 on the keypad.
  2. A summary report will print.
  3. A detailed report will be emailed to the address linked to your business settings. You can update your e-mail address from the portal.

How do I adjust a Tip?

Adjusting a tip is easy. Simply follow the steps below:

  1. Tap the (★) icon, then press 3.
  2. Choose Tran Number or Card Number.
  3. Enter the transaction number or last 4 digits of the card.
  4. Select the transaction to adjust.
  5. Choose a pre-configured tip amount or enter a customer amount.
  6. Tap OK to confirm.
  7. Choose whether to print a merchant copy.
  8. Select Yes to adjust another tip, or No to finish.
