What makes an address invalid?

Your address entry may be rejected if it includes:
- P.O. Boxes
- Incomplete or incorrect ZIP codes (e.g., less than 5 digits or includes letters)
- Missing state abbreviation or city name
- Numeric-only street names or cities
- Special characters
- Entries not selected from SmartyStreets suggestions
- Not a valid U.S. address
If your entry is invalid, you’ll see the message: ‘Search and select your full address.’
We don’t allow manual entry or post-selection editing. Make sure that the address matches the required format: Street Number & Name, Building (if applicable), City, State, ZIP Code.
