How can I update my “Doing Business As” (DBA) name?

The Paysafe Business Experience portal allows you to quickly and easily change your doing-business-as (DBA) name. Simply follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Paysafe Business Experience portal using your credentials and navigate to the Merchant > Merchant Information tab from the Account dashboard.

  2. Under About My Business, go to Business Information > Doing Business As Name (DBA) and click the pencil icon to edit your business name. The icon is highlighted to indicate it’s editable.

  3. A pop-up window will appear for you to enter your new business name. We will first attempt to verify it automatically. If this fails or is unavailable, you’ll be asked to attach a supporting document to validate the change.

Automatic name change 

Our system runs a name check using a third-party service to confirm your new Doing Business As name. You just need to enter your new business name and click Verify name.

 

If the name check is successful, you’ll see a message confirming the change, and your new business name will be instantly reflected on the Paysafe Business Experience portal. 

You have only one try to complete the name change automatically. If it fails, you’ll be redirected to manual name change.

Manual name change

If we can’t automatically verify your new business name, you’ll see a message prompting you to upload supporting documents to validate the change request.

 

We accept the following documents as forms of validation:

  • Doing Business As Filing
  • Fictitious Name Filing
  • Trade Name Filing
  • Business License
  • Articles of Incorporation
  • W9 Form

The file type should be .png, .jpeg or .pdf, and the maximum file size should not exceed 25MB.

Once you submit the required document and your name change request, our team will review it and update your business name, typically within up to 48 business hours. If we can't verify your documentation, or if we need any additional documents, one of our representatives will contact you via email or phone.

You can follow the progress of your request by going to the Support Hub of your Paysafe Business Experience portal. Simply search for a ticket titled ‘Update Business Information’, which will be automatically created following your request.

Once the change has been applied, you’ll be able to see your new business name on Paysafe Business Experience under Merchant Information > About My Business tab. Your merchant receipt and bank descriptor will also be automatically updated.

Keep in mind that you can change such data on your own only if you are authorized and have the respective edit rights.
