Why doesn’t my deposit match my batch total?
Copied to clipboard
There are several reasons why the amount deposited may be less than your total batch amount:
- Daily fees deducted: fees such as transaction fees, service charges, or monthly minimums may be taken out before funds are deposited.
- Card type funding differences: certain card types, like American Express or Discover, may deposit separately from your main batch.
- ACH hold days: depending on your account setup, funds may be held for 0–1 business day (or same-day ACH) before being released. This may cause deposits to appear out of sync with the batch total.
- Chargebacks or adjustments: if a dispute or refund was processed, the amount may be deducted from your funding.
- Backup withholding: if your Tax Identification Number (TIN) is invalid or mismatched with IRS records, IRS backup withholding may apply.
- Partial funding or reserves: if a reserve is in place, a percentage of your batch may be held to cover risk.
