What is an ACH Hold and when will I receive my ACH deposit?
An ACH Hold is the number of business days we wait before releasing funds from your processed transactions after you close your batch. ACH holds are used as a risk management measure to help ensure transactions are processed correctly before funds are deposited into your bank account.
Each merchant account is assigned an ACH hold period based on its account setup and funding arrangement. The hold period may be adjusted over time based on factors such as account activity and transaction history. ACH hold periods can vary up to 7 business days and can be found in your merchant agreement.
The most common ACH hold configurations are:
- Same-Day ACH: Funds are deposited on the same business day the batch is closed, provided the batch is submitted before the applicable cutoff time.
- 0-Day Hold (Next-Day Funding): Funds are deposited on the next business day after the batch is closed.
- 1-Day Hold: Funds are deposited two business days after the batch is closed.
Your deposit date is determined by both your ACH hold period and the time you submit your batch. If a batch is closed after the cutoff time, processing may begin on the next business day, which can delay when funds are deposited.
Deposits processed near the end of a month may not appear on your bank statement until the beginning of the following month.
